How we make our tiles

Three sample tiles fanning out
Stacks of fired tiles waiting to be glazed

After the tiles are made, they need to dry flat. Then they are bisque-fired. Tin white majolica glaze is applied by pouring it over the tile.

In this video, you can see the whole process including our painting technique.

How we
Finish
our Tiles

From the ground up...

This hole shows a layer of clay under the topsoil in our backyard
A lump of clay that is waiting to be used
The image shows tiles right after they have been rolled out on the slab roller and stamped
this is an overhead view of the screening process that we use to remove gravel and sticks when screening the clay slurry

From design to the finished tile...

The slab of clay is rolled out and then cut into 9 even tiles and the back of each tile is stamped
