Kind to the Earth

By digging clay from our own property, we have reduced our use of clay mined from industrial open pits by 60% to 75%, shrinking our transportation impacts and industrial energy demands..

Our clay is stored in repurposed cat litter bins, and we actively recycle clay cutoffs to minimize waste.

Our electric kilns are supplied with green electricity from Bullfrog Power, guaranteeing that we don't produce CO2 emissions when the tiles are fired.

Join us in our eco-friendly approach to tile making!

Local Clay

In our studio, each batch of clay begins with a unique source—our very own backyard. We carefully dig up the clay and store it in reusable tubs. This hands-on approach ensures that every tile is connected to the place it was made and its geological history.

Earthenware Clay

Our unique clay deposit, located just a foot beneath the surface, may not be perfect for growing vegetables, but it yields a stunning brick red earthenware clay body. Earthenware tiles require 30% less electricity to fire in the kiln than stoneware or porcelain tiles.

Bullfrog Power

Our electric kilns, firing six times each month, are supplied with 850kwh of renewable energy from Bullfrog Power. This reduces our CO2 impact by 1.6 tonnes in a year.
